TAIM NoLita Menu

Want to know what we think/thought?
“Meet me at TAIM it’s going down, catch me eating Falafel it’s going down!”

If you’re ever in NOLITA & want to grab a Snack, Lunch, Dinner, Smoothie, and/or a Fresh Lemonade stop by TAIM!

Or… You could be greedy just like me & purchase the following:

A Whole Wheat Pita Falafel Sandwich (which includes: Harissa Falafel, Hummus, Pickled Cabbage, Israeli Salad, & Tahini Sauce) with Fries & to top this all off a FRESH Ginger-Mint Lemonade! (For the record I don’t feel embarrassed that my lunch sounds like a grocery list worth of food!)

TAIM is reasonably priced, great for vegetarians, & also good if you want something quick healthy yet hearty!

**They know me by name & order here! 🙂 A nice touch may I add!

I’ll be sure to get Elle to post about what she eats at TAIM! We never get the opportunity to eat here together! However her TAIM sounds much more exciting than mine (nudge Elle) -> it’s your turn!

Thanks Sher! I got it from here 🙂 Okay guys, here’s what you must try at Taim..

If you’re not into the whole ‘everything being stuffed in between pita bread’ idea (like me!) or if you’re giving this place a try for the first time, I recommend you have the (Green or) Mixed Falafel Platter. Let me just say .. yes, I know it is a bit pricey ($12) but look at it this way, your getting more bang for your buck! Here’s what you’ll recieve:

  • Bigger portions
  • Two sides of your liking (I go for the cabbage and israeli salad)
  • What seems like endless hummus *mmm
  • Three types of falafels (if you’re getting the Mixed Platter)
  • Three sauces to dip your falafels
  • Pita bread
  • The ability to make your own sandwich… or not!

I don’t know about you all, but i’m a sucker for dipping sauces and customizing my own sandwiches. So, if you’re one for variety, you must try the Platters at Taim!

P.S. I have to acknowledge how neatly that the staff packages everything! Every side stays intact- without mixing into another, the falafels are packaged separately, the sauces are bagged separate and the pita bread is wrapped separate too! Yes.. it’s pretty incredible!

Market Diner Menu (they do not have pizza!) Nor are they extremely child friendly with their menu selection!

Want to know what we think/thought?
I SHALL NOT DWELL ON THIS ISSUE FOR TOO LONG!

1) THE FOOD WAS FAR FROM TASTEFUL (BLAND & FLAVOURLESS)
2) FOOD TASTES FROZEN!!!
3) MY MUM’S GYRO WAS LIKE A SLATE OF CHICKEN WITH PRE-BURNT GRILL LINES!!! FAR FROM A GYRO, I WAS DISGUSTED FOR HER! (She couldn’t complete her meal!)
4) FAKE CHEESE
5) OUR SERVER WAS PUSHY
6) THE HOST THREW OUR CHEQUE ON THE TABLE
7) NOT GOOD ALTOGETHER

WHAT A SHAME!

**Note I visited here with a child & I don’t think this place is child friendly at all. In fairness they weren’t friendly to the adults either!

I did notice more of a positive reaction towards those whom appeared to be their regular customers/diners!

Sherelle Style: What Food Reminds you of Home?

dazedstates food post

I think the question should be, which food doesn’t remind me of home?

There are a slew of meals, cuisines, as well as restaurants that are reminiscent of home to me.

The list includes (in no apparent order):

  • Kebab – From that place on the high street that everyone goes to you, which you wait in the line forever for. That same said kebab my veggie self can no longer eat but dreams about on off days! Yes it is that good!
  • Tandoori Corner – They specialise in Tandoori goods & they’re on the corner! Make sense? They are also known for their kebab rolls (no they aren’t the kebab shop above
  • Fish & Chips – Minus the fish I’d practically eat chips from any chip shop in the UK as long as they aren’t frying McCains & faking that they are hand cut/homemade etc. (Not that I wouldn’t devour McCains chips – but I wouldn’t buy them from a chip shop now would I?
  • Maroush – LEBANESE FOOD! In Knightsbridge there is food & as part of their food selection they have Lebanese & if you haven’t tried Lebanese you haven’t yet lived! So change out of your pyjamas & rush over to Maroush. It’ll be the first day of your life!!! Get anything! But don’t be boring & just go for a salad!
  • Chicken & Chips! – As cliche as this selection may sound, it’s far from cliche. Who doesn’t eat chicken & chips in the UK? Well apart from me of course! When I speak of chicken & chips I am NOT referring to KFC! There are a grand selection of chicken & chip shops. Who wouldn’t want spicy chicken wings & some skinny chips topped with salt & your condiment(s) of choice? Obviously just to make things even more unconventional, majority of the chicken & chip shops serve the following:
  • Burgers (chicken, beef, fish, rarely veggie) & chips
  • Ribs (mostly lamb with BBQ sauce
  • Apple Pies (I’m talking deep fried with a munch to the crunch
  • A selection of all the fizzy drinks (sodas) you shouldn’t even drink after all the lovely tastes of your meal, but get one it makes the experience.
**I’m positive I’m missing a few items but you get it right?
What’s better is the box that your chicken & chips come in!!!
See below (I stole the picture from google, shhhh! Don’t tell it’s our secret

uk chicken and chips box

  • Brick Lane – You want a surplus of Indian & select Asian food? Please, please, please, please go to Brick Lane. What’s best? Ever heard of restaurant food bargaining? I didn’t think so! YOU CAN BARGAIN (between restaurants) FOR FOOD IN BRICK LANE! That’s how much competition is down there! Definitely a ‘Cheap Eat’ if you bargain correctly.

I’m sure my list could go on for days because I haven’t even started with the ‘Sweets & Treats’!!!

Thought this list was exciting? You may just want to live in London when I disclose my favourite ‘Sweets & Treats’ 🙂
